Olivia & Patrick Pre-wedding Pictures
Olivia contacted me about outdoor pre-wedding pictures in Seoul in the summer of 2013. She was a Korean Air stewardess at the time (based in Indonesia), and her fiancé Patrick was working in Australia. Olivia was passing through Korea on one of her flights, so she asked Patrick to meet her in Korea for the pre-wedding pictures. She timed the session for late January and was hoping to catch some snow. She knew the weather was going to be freezing, but it didn’t stop her from bringing a classy-looking sleeveless wedding dress. Unfortunately, it didn’t snow on the day of her session and the weather was freezing cold! To make matters worse, it was raining just before the session making the ground super wet and dirty. I was quite nervous about the session because of the bad conditions, but Olivia & Patrick were super patient and easygoing. Although the weather was horrible and Olivia’s dress was getting dirty from the rain (literally black on the bottom!), the two of them kept smiling and maintained a positive attitude. If it weren’t for them, I wouldn’t have been able to get such good pictures! This was also one of my only sessions where most of the photography was done at night, so I got to do a lot of experimentation with off-camera flash. The shots came out really cool and were different from a lot of my other photography work. If you look at the pictures, you’d never guess that all of these were taken in the freezing cold. I still don’t know how Olivia maintained her posture and smile in the cold Seoul weather! She is a true lover of photography and is willing to go the distance for great pictures. Thank you Olivia & Patrick for giving me the opportunity to take these pictures. I had a blast and I wish the two of you the best in your marriage!
